Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology company serving insurance and highly regulated markets, today announced the launch of Ambrey Global Specialty Limited (AGS).
Specialising in marine hull war risks spot breach, the MGA will be hosted on the Davies MGA Services Limited platform and will operate with a broad range of support provided by Davies MGA Services as an appointed representative of the company.
AGS, a subsidiary of parent company Ambrey – one of the largest providers of risk management services to the global maritime industry – will offer unique data and insights in providing market-leading levels of risk mitigation to support insurers’ breach risk programs.
Ambrey has a track record of demonstrated capability and expertise to monitor and reduce risk to shipping, be it terrorism, war risks, narcotics, migration, or piracy.
Nick Maddalena, Managing Director, AGS, said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of Ambrey Global Specialty, which extends Ambrey’s ability to support our clients in the global maritime industry. AGS launches at a time of considerable geopolitical instability, and we are delighted to once again partner with Davies to further assist clients in navigating the world’s most volatile areas safely.”
Emma Plush, Director – MGA & Broker Solutions, at Davies, said: “We are extremely pleased to support Ambrey’s latest venture, facilitating the launch of AGS and providing a range of services fundamental to its success. This further demonstrates our ability to not only help launch MGAs, brokers, syndicates, and captives, but also to assist management teams as they expand their strategic footprint in the insurance space over the longer term.”
The launch of AGS follows that of Ambrey Insurance Brokers (AIB) in 2020 – also an appointed representative of Davies, operating on Davies Broking Services Limited platform. The intelligence-led marine broker has since gained significant traction placing spot breach risks, specifically marine hull war risks and kidnap for ransom insurance, into the open market for its shipping clients.
In addition, Ambrey has launched a new Global Operations Centre (GOC), located in Southampton. This unique centre combines advanced analysis, digital innovation, and experienced master mariners to configure a suite of services that prepare and respond to crews and vessels navigating complex environments. Through the GOC, Ambrey delivers the reassurance of working with a partner that acts with integrity, dependability, and responsibility in assisting clients to save lives, time and money across the maritime industry.
The GOC has been created to advance and elevate standards in the maritime industry for every seafarer and every vessel, everywhere. The GOC will give the global maritime industry access to an incredibly advanced maritime domain awareness and intelligence capability integrated with a broad range of security, safety and response services.
